The idea of forming an association for the welfare of our community was proposed by S/Shri N G Vasudev Moorthy, S Ramakrishna Ramachandra Rao N K , DR. K Raghunath Rao, S Raja Rao , SriPrakash and others at a meeting in Kolar in early 2003.
In order to carry forward this proposal, a meeting was convened in May 2003 on the auspicious day of “Akshaya Thritiya “ at Gangamma Kalyana Mantapa , Jayanagar 4th T Block , Bangalore, which was attended by about 150 members. It was in this meeting that the name of the sangha ‘AKSHAYA VIPRA MAHA SABHA' was proposed and accepted by the members unanimously.
An adhoc committee was formed consisting of the following Office Bearers .

The first General Body Meeting was held on 07.09.2003. An Executive Committee of 45 members was formed who then reelected the above office bearers. In this meeting it was resolved to register the Sangha with the Registrar of Societies , Urban Dist. Bangalore. The Sangha was registered on 28.10.2003 with REG NO 735 / 2003-04.
It was also resolved to undertake a membership drive. This drive succeeded in enrolling about 1000 members within no time.
The inaugural function of the Sabha was held on 15.02.2004 at Gayana Samaj , Bangalore wherein all the enrolled members were invited. This function was graced by His Holiness SRI VISHVESHA TIRTHA SWAMIJI OF PEJAWAR MUTT, UDIPI and His Holiness SRI VIGNYANA NIDHI THIRTHA SRIPADANGALU OF MULBAGAL MUTT. Others present on the solemn occasion were SHRI B N V SUBRAMANYA, President of Akhila Karnataka Brahmin Mahasabha, DR. PUTTARAYA K P , President of the Federation of Akhila Bharat Brahman Sanghas, SMT. TEJASWINI ANANT KUMAR , President of Adhamya Chethana Trust , SHRI SRINATH , the kannada cine star, and other dignitaries.
On this occasion all member couples who completed 80 years were felicitated and blessed by His Holiness Pejawar Swamiji.
Akshaya Vipra Maha Sabha has been rendering Matrimonial services to the community since 2007--2008 thru its Matrimonial Bureau at the office premises. On second Saturday of every month , an Inter-face meet is being held at the office premises for the prospective Bride and Bridegrooms and their parents to meet personally and exchange views/details.
HOSTEL : From 01.02.2017 onwards, the Sangha is running a hostel for Brahmin boys with about 30 students / employees alongwith internal catering kitchen facilities.
Initially the office of the Sangha was located at No 299, 7th Block Jayanagar, Kanakapura Road, Bangalore 5600 82. Subsequently the office was moved to 9th Block , Jayanagar , before shifting to the present premises. Inicdentally, the present premises happens to be the Sangha”s own building which was inaugurated on 27.12.2015.
