The idea of forming an association for the welfare of our community was proposed by S/Shri N G Vasudev Moorthy , S Ramakrishna , Ramachandra Rao N K Rao Dr. K . Raghunath Rao, S Raja Rao , SriPrakash and others at a meeting in Kolar in early 2003.

In order to carry forward this proposal, a meeting was convened in May 2003 on the auspicious day of “Akshaya Thritiya “ at Gangamma Kalyana Mantapa , Jayanagar 4th T Block , Bangalore, which was attended by about 150 members. It was in this meeting that the name of the sangha ‘AKSHAYA VIPRA MAHA SABHA' was proposed and accepted by the members unanimously.

The first General Body Meeting was held on 07.09.2003. An Executive Committee of 45 members was formed who then reelected the above office bearers. In this meeting it was resolved to register the Sangha with the Registrar of Societies , Urban Dist. Bangalore. The Sangha was registered on 28.10.2003 with REG NO 735 / 2003-04.
